Okay, I know I need to recap my artworks from various H/D fests in past several months, but I just need to mentnion this--

From exclusive interview of David Yates(director of DH2 movie) at SnitchSeeker.com:
-------

Yates: [...]There was also a moment where Tom... we had this scene. In this scene where Tom throws Harry a wand, which is a big deal - a hugely different ending. It's not a different ending, it's a different moment. And we thought, "Oh my god, is that too much of a turnaround for Malfoy?" So Malfoy suddenly becomes a good guy - so that's what Steve [Kloves, screenwriter] wrote.

-------

EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

OMG seriously that is the moment I wanted in that movie, man!

I'm not saying this because I'm a H/D shipper(okay, maybe a bit); it's just, in the 6th film they made Draco into a very unique, sympathetic character with the complexity which even JKR had never seen in him(in order to make other characters stand out, so I hope) and I don't think *this Draco*'s story would ever come to completion until he admits his own weakness and longing for Harry and finally takes his action-- no matter how small it is-- against his father and Voldemort.

And so, despite David Heyman and David Barron(accouding to Yetes)'s decision, I don't think the outcomes of Draco depicted in DH2 film was most effective for the character. In my impression, they choose that ending because they felt Klove's version being too diverted from the book, or too overshadowing the stories about Harry and Snape.

I understand those psyches of filmmakers but honestly I was sad to see Draco walking away Hogwarts with accomplishing nothing. I hope they will at least give us the full footages of "alternative endings of Malfoys" which Jason Isaacs and Tom Felton kept mentioning in the upcoming DVD.

...well, no, the real update on my side is that, just when I was doodling the above Harry with my same old Wacom Favo drawing tablet which I've used for my digital artwork last 6 years,  started acting funny and never came back alright even after re-installing the driver.  So I finally decided to buy a new drawing tablet and hopefully it will provide better response and improve my lame art skill!8-D  On the other hand,  in case the new tablet won't be delivered to me within next few days I'll have to start drawing my submission for hd_bigbang with mouse!(hmm, sounds fun, though.)

Anyway, my very belated thank-you for all those v-gifts of kisses&chocolate-heads! I think I've gifted back all those who gifted me, but if you haven't gifted back from me, don't hesitate to come&nudge me so I'll send you quick next time!.

Also, thank you all for those lovely comments on my hd_relief art!  I'll recap the art in my journal later, while I keep working on hd_bigbang art and also start tackling  shortly on hd_canon_fest and hd_fanart fest ones. And don't worry-- I'll go to DH2 movie within this week and catch you up!:-)

As one who's born and live in Japan, I truly appreciate all of your support, donations, and prayers pouring into Japan from all over the world-- because I really can't think we could ever get through this disaster by ourselves.  Yes, we've experienced massive natural disasters in our history which devastated several cities(such as 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake, or I'd list 1974 Typhoon Gilda as my personal experience), but this time the damage is just too monstrous and too vast to compare to anything in the past.  Every single cities and villages  in northeastern Pacific shore of Tohoku area-- if you look at that Japanese map in hd_relief banner, it's nearly half of the eastern shore of the entire mainland-- are destroyed by earthquake and tsunami, and those coastal cities in Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures are literally swept away by the mass of black water... it almost made us think that all surrounding areas which are damaged by the earthquake alone are much fortunate.

The worst part is-- even after two weeks, we're still not able to collect the overall figure of casualties.  Several cities in Iwate and MIyagi lost their  municipal offices with population database and thousands of households are deemed unreported as no family member had survived to confirm the losses.  Yet worse is northeast Fukushima-- I think that some of you have already seen the horrifying video of deadly tsunami engulfing Minamisouma city, which located near north of Fukushima 1 nuke plant.  Since Minamisouma and other neighboring villages were declared as evacuation zone shortly after the explosion on Mar.14, even the rescuers had to abandon the area, leaving all dead bodies there.  And so, the confirmed  death toll in Fukushima is eerily low compared to those in Iwate and Miyagi, even to this date.

Now, on a brighter side-- my deepest appreciation form the humanitarian aids, donations and fund-raising efforts which kept pouring inside Japan and from all over the world, and had certainly encouraged those battered people as well as anyone in this country.  Really, during the night in Mar.11, amid the recurring aftershocks(much less frequent than those in Tohoku, though) I was so shocked and terrified I couldn't think how my country would recover -- couldn't ever come up with the word 'rebuild'-- from this humongous damage to our people.  But then, days later several senior refugees, many of whom lost their homes and practically everything, answered the interview, thanking those relief supplies and saying that--  while I thought it would be much easier for them leave those devastated ground--  they'll stay there with others to reconstruct their hometown.  Apparently, where I couldn't see nothing other than horrendous mounds of wrecks and debris, there are people who can still see something else-- hope.   If you say you've amazed by how the mother nature can be cruel and ruthless in this disaster, I'd say I'm more amazed by how the people can still withstand the tragedy and stay strong with dignity, compassion, patience and yes, hope.

Of course, things are still tough and certainly I need your prayers over people in Fukushima-- but at least I feel a lot better now than two weeks ago, and I really thank my fandom, as it gave me something I should look forward.  As long as some h/d fests are going on, I'll keep hanging on, haha!:-D

...so that we don't have to see anything at dawn tomorrow.

Anyway, I've been caught by RL for last few months and couldn't contribute to my beloved fandom for long time(EWWWWWWWW missed so many fests-signups!!ToT), and it's really sad to see it's this occasion to update my journal, but as you know...

Huge Japan quake causes tsunami, fires, landslide

As, for me,  I and my families are all okay.  Yes, really.  Right at the moment of the quake, I was out on drive in my sister's car and she said she felt 'a bit odd on steering'  while I felt nothing.^^; So really, there's practically no damage to report about my area, which is far southwest from Tokyo .

However, the damages on Northeastern mainland are indeed, so massive and still ongoing.  It's 10:30PM here in Japan and broadcasters on TV are still alarming for the aftershocks and subsequent tsunami, and the reported casualty at this point is 50 or so but I must say that the death toll will most certainly hit hundreds by tomorrow mostly by tsunami, not by the quake itself.  So please:

Honolulu, other parts of Pacific brace for tsunami

Yes, please, you don't have to panic but just, prepare well.  We can't avoid the sudden earthquake attack but at least we can prepare for tsunami-- I've seen so many devastating images today and really don't want anyone get killed outside Japan from this disaster.

Also, on behalf of so many people in Japan, I'd like to say thank you for your prayer all over the world-- yes, I got some too!  FYI, from what I've seen, so far the transportations and some utilities(such as phone lines) in Tokyo are affected, causing many people inconvenience-- but no serious damages fortunately, so don't worry.  However, the damages on those who in Tohoku area, especially in Miyagi, are still yet to be reported(my prayer here).

PS. OMG all TVs just stop reporting about those unharmed crowds in Tokyo!  Just send rescuers to Kesennuma and stop that hideous fire NOW!! There are still refugees left in that city can't you see!??

I've been playing with ComiPo! manga sequencer software(so called as 'music sequencer' application; see this video for the basic concept) and really, it's quite fun! For me as an artist, it does some difficult elements(such as changing three-dimensional viewpoint of characters) so much easier than actually drawing, whereas some elements still look awkward and unnatural. But I think this software has so much potential, considering more data are planned to be added in future update.(I certainly want more wardrobe data-- I'll definitely buy that set!)

Anyway, as my practice I made this 4-panel manga with current data inventory-- I hope the characters look as Harry and Draco!

Happy h/d ChristmasCollapse )
