My Wishlist 2008-2009

A bit delayed but here's my wishlist-for-Christmas entry. Since I followed the direction faithfully and listed the things I REALLY, TRULY want, the list may look not so interesting here.

-------[starts here]---------

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.

- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use—or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free—do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf—to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not — it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

  1. New WACOM Tablet - This is the thing I definitely want NOW because I'm still using my old FAVO which, well, works pretty well and causes not much problem actually, but it's just too small for my wide-screen display and eventually requires ridiculously large canvas size when I do my artwork. I'm so in need of this but it's just not the right time of the year to make a large purchase, I'll wait for next year.
  2. SAI data - user-customized data for SAI, especially brush and texture data of any kind.
  3. POSER data - I've just purchased Poser7 Limited(i.e. Discounted) Edition and I'm so excited!^^ I'll toy around with this software which is still to be delivered at this point of time, and I'm already searching for cool parts or props data.
  4. The Saga Of Darren Shan(Cirque du Freak) Manga, US Edition - The English-language edition of Takahiro Arai's manga-adaptation of "The Saga or Darren Shan(Cirque du Freak)" will be released in US next year! As a big fan of this manga and the original novel, I'm so excited about this news. and while I'll definitely purchase my copy anyway, I hope you get your own copy of this book if you're in US. Really, this is going to be an extraordinary collaboration in which the original author of the novel supervise the translation of manga adaptation; and as for the art and adapted story-- believe me, it only gets getter volume after volume!!
  5. Tenimyu Dream Live 6th Ticket - Grr, since Team Hyotei returned to Tenimyu, next Dream Live will be another tough-to-obtain ticket. Although I saw the last 2(or 3) Tenimyu tour in Nagoya, I've never been to Dream Live event and this time I'm quite interested because of, oh hell, yes, Hyotei gangs.
  6. Sumo July Tournament - I'm a serious sumo fan and last two summer I went to Nagoya to watch the July sumo tournament live. If anyone is going to the venue next year, I'd love to share the time and have a talk!:-) I'll be there most likely for two days, although it depends how well Asashoryu and Harumafuji will be doing.
  7. Katekyo Hitman Reborn!: 8027 Fanfic/Fanart - I'm lurking LJ's KHR comm and very predictably, few people are in 8027 ship. Yes, I know Gokudera-kun is cute, Hibari-san is cool, and Mukuro is pervintriguing, but I daresay, I LOVE Yamamoto X Tsuna!! So give me anything 8027-related, pleez.
  8. Marshmallow - I don't like much sweets(I prefer salty snacks), but marshmallow is my favorite and I'll be very likely to keep buying next year, so I listed here.
  9. H/D Fanart - I think there are not as many exchanges among fan-artists as fanfic writers and that's really pity-- because I, too, want fanart-- or more precisely speaking, I want see the art of my story with not my own drawing.(oh okay, it doesn't have to be the art for my fics, since I haven't written many stories, haha!)
  10. H/D Fanfic - I'm not so demanding but hopefully it to be short(because I'm a slow reader) and bottom!Draco.

Writer's Block: Infamous

Today is known to some as the Day of Infamy, in commemoration of what happened at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. In your lifetime, what date sticks out as the most memorable in terms of world events?

  • June 4, 1989
  • March 20, 1995 (The day of Sarin gas attack on Tokyo subway lines)
  • September 11, 2001
Out of my own lifetime,  August 6 and 9, 1945.
